The U.S. Army sought a modular turn-key experimental fixture to enable high speed video capture of tail boom exhaust gases during mortar cartridge testing within a limited budget.

Concept Development, Engineering Design & Prototyping

JAKTOOL worked closely with U.S. Army engineers to iterate design concepts incorporating the Army’s safety, reliability, and ease of use requirements
A subsequent requirement to prevent a double strike of the firing pin was fully met with a novel JAKTOOL passive pendulum catch design
Modularity was built into the device enabling the fitment of 60, 81, and 120MM mortar systems within a single fixture

JAKTOOL developed the Army’s concept and designed, manufactured, and delivered a robust, cost effective turn-key fixture exceeding every requirement, on time and within budget.
